Surprise Parties
This weekend was big in my family. My son-in-law's 30th birthday "surprise" party was held in a beautiful spot in the Ozark hills outside of Springfield, MO. It's amazing how many stars are in the sky when you get away from city and suburb lights. It's called "Light Pollution" and while it helps security and a feeling of being safer in a big populated area, it completely washes away the view of something I've loved since I was a small child - the stars. Then my Father's 80th surprise party was yesterday. The premise to get him "out of the way" was to have him go with us to our son-in-law's party! Perfect timing, but a lot of road time. My Dad was completely surprised, and seeing him in his element with all his friends laughing and being a part of things made me think of some of the characters in my stories. Many of them are seem to be loners. It's making me rethink some of the newer characters I'm introducing in new stories. Thanks for reading! As always, comments are VERY welcome!
